Spunbond, also known as spunlaid is a type of nonwoven fabric that is made in one continuous process. In spun-bond fabric, the fibers are spun and are then directly dispersed into the web by deflectors, or directed by air streams. This method of making fabric results in faster belt speed and cheaper costs. Other variants of this process are available as well in the market, for example REICOFIL machinery. Spunbond fabric has also been combined with melt-blown nonwovens, resulting in a new layered product called Spun-Melt-Spun (SMS). SMS fabrics made from polypropylene and waterproof and usable good enough to be used as disposable fabrics. Textile Infomedia is a platform for suppliers of premium quality spunbond fabric to sell their products.
Spunbond fabric is manufactured by depositing extruded and spun filaments onto a collection belt inconsistent form, which is later followed by bonding of the fibers. These bonded fibers are then separated during the web layering step by air jets or electrostatic charges. It is a process of making non-woven fabric. The continuous fiber is derived from the raw materials of polypropylene, polyester, and polyethylene, which have been dried and melted, converting them into a flowing polymer melt. Spunbond fabrics are usually manufactured with very fine to medium continuous filament fibers. These fabrics are not only dimensionally stable but also uniform. These kinds of fabrics require additional treatments for stability from UV and heat. Textile infomedia has a collection of spunbond fabrics which can be procured directly from the manufacturers.
