Gloster limited was incorporated on 2nd january 1923 under the provisions of the companies act 1913. gloster limited having its registered office at 21, strand road, kolkata 700001, west bengal is engaged in manufacturing and exporting of all types of jute & jute allied products. company two manufacturing units are situated at bauria, p.o. fort gloster, district howrah in the state of west bengal, india. the house of bangurs as one of the leading business conglomerates acquired the mills of gloster in the year 1954. gloster employs around 4,500 people and has a production capacity of 50,000 m.ton per annum. gloster s manufacturing units not only have the modern jute manufacturing processes but are also certified for quality management system, having certificate for iso 9001:2015. apart from that gloster is a very conscious company as far as environmental aspects and health & safety of their employees are concerned and is certified under iso 14001:2015 for environment management system and iso 45001:2018 for occupational health & safety management system. gloster s authorised share capital is rs. 27.50 crores divided into 2.75 crore equity shares of rs.10/- each. gloster product profile can be broadly classified into a) traditional products such as hessian, yarn, sacking etc., b) technical products such as geo-textiles, agro-textiles, fabrics treated for fire retardancy, microbial attacks, hydrocarbon-free jute bags, jute leno fabrics etc. and c) lifestyle products such as floor covering, processed decorative, furnishing fabrics, bags & made ups, jute mats etc. the company has also added new technical products namely bags & made ups, laminated jute fabrics, washed jute canvas, coated fabrics for soft luggage, coated molleton fabrics, all types of light natural & dyed yarns / ropes and non-woven products. the company acts as a one-stop shop for all kinds of jute products available in the market. gloster has been endorsing sustainability since the time sustainability was just another term in environmental science. jute gloster and sustainability have become almost synonymous over the years. gloster tries its best to sustain the resources of the society by opting for sustainable development. while producing high quality jute and jute allied products gloster ensures optimum use of renewable resources and re-cycleable products. gloster believes in sustainability reporting and sustainability report for the years 2012-13 to 2021-2022 are in place.
