We have been involved with the textile business since the 70s. We owned a textile mill, Vinod Dyeing, in the Dombivali area of Mumbai where we processed Micro Cotton Fabric, Spun Cotton Fabric, Alfino Chiffon Fabric and Plain Net Fabric. Some of our family members moved to Surat, Gujarat in 1978 sensing great potential in the synthetic textiles industry there. In Surat we initially developed a trading outfit, Swadeshi Silk Mills, which reached peak sales of 3-5 lacs meter of finished fabrics in a month. Couple of years later we started processing synthetic fabric at a rented mill known as Swadeshi Dyeing and by 1984 we bought another dyeing and printing mill Silver Dyeing..
